Need opinion on air flow :D (newbie question)

UnwantedPotato

Hello All,

I hope you are all well, I Have trouble deciding on the fan placement of my current build. I have a diagram below to show the current set up. I have placed the 2nd fan on my front panel as exhaust since it is directly with the gpu exhaust as well. is this a good call?  I would highly appreciate your feed back and criticism :D

Best,

Potato

No.

Is this a Founder's Edition RTX 30 card? It would be better to just have the middle one as an intake since the second fan blows air upwards on the GPU.

What kind of cooler is that?
Which GPU is it?

the gpu hot air exit path is directly facing on the 2nd fan on the front panel. the gpu is zotac 1060 amp ed.

Think you're mistaken no GPU blows air forward toward the front of the case like that intentionally.

All 3 front fans should be blowing toward the back of the case.  You want a hair dryer effect, not a turbulent mess as you have it laid out.

Edit:  Yes, you're wrong.  The Amp Ed is a 2 fan card that blows air onto the heat sinks and then ends up all over.  Having a good airflow will get that hot air out of the case efficiently and quickly.

Looks like it will exhaust out both sides of the card.

Switch all the front fans to intake.

Your GPU isn't going to be pushing air towards the front of the case. Flip that middle fan around. All three should be pulling in air from the front and pushing it through the case.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

In at front or bottom, out at top and/or back.

air won’t go exactly where you want it so only give it one way to go.

Also consider pushing more air in than you pull out. Pulling out is to encourage the direction but you don’t want to pull in through unfiltered places if you have filters.

I think you need to focus on getting hot air out of the case as quickly and efficiently as possible. The GPU hot air will be easier to get up and out rather than sideways.

By the way what cooling do you have on your CPU is it a fan? Because that will also be blowing warm air laterally away from the CPU towards the side of the case.
Also you need to make sure you've got adequate space underneath the case to allow cool air to be brought in.

I suggest something like this

If it were me and I needed that many fans?

Three fronts in, top front in, top rear out, rear out.

The two bottoms would feed the gpu, as well as cool off its exhaust while adding pressure to the case to actually get the exhaust out.

I use big fans for brute force, not really concerned with noise too much.. unless its louder than my stereo.
