paggylikespcs

me and my brother thought of saving up about 1,200-1,400 dollars to buy parts and build a pc. What motherboard do you think we should get and here are the games we will be playing to help you give a recomendation: Fortnite, Car x drift racing, minecraft, rocket league, and forza horizon 4

Wow, slow down. What platform? Intel? AMD? (I would recommend AMD C:)
Also whats your budget for a motherboard?

Budget (including currency): 1,200-1,400 USD

Country: United States of America

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite, Minecraft, Car x drift racing, and rocket league.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i just want a good pc to game and maybe stream on. im upgrading from a prebuild that me and my brother saved up for but i dont know what its called. im probably gonna try to have the pc ready to play and built by July or Augast. I want to play at at least 100 fps.

Do you plan to play at a higher refresh rate? Do you already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse?

i can see you already made a thread for an entire pc build in the New Builds and Planning subforum,

so i don't think you need to make one for each specific computer part in each subforum :)

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

Just read your other post. You saiid your building in July/August, so I would wait. Come back in a couple months and then ask for a list. Nothing is in stock right now and the market will be changed alot over the next 6 months so building right now is a bad idea (and isnt really possible!)

These games don't need any powerhouse, if you got a new PC in 2020 you should be able to play them just fine.

Cause me and my brother both want our own so we don’t have to share and so we can play games together and so we don’t have to take turns to play and so we can play whenever we want and so i don’t always have to go to my brothers room to play and I could just play in my room by myself cause he gets annoying at times (don’t tell him I said that) lol

Try downloading and playing said games when you get your prebuilt PC.  Do you know where she got it from?  It is unlikely you need another new PC

Pretty much any PC prebuilt you could but would be at minimum including a 1650 super on the lower end, or a 5500XT.  These should be just fine to play the games you mentioned.  I havent seen sites including anything lower than this in terms of GPU.  But they can certainly handle those games well.

I am going to try and not be too much of an old man curmudgeon (though it will come off that way :) ) and tell you how back in the day most were lucky to just get a new 200-300 dollar console and that's it for like 4 years.  You have a brand new prebuilt that should be able to play those games just fine, it is certainly silly especially at your age to be throwing around another 1500 dollars on another gaming PC.

OK old man rant over, enjoy that prebuilt, play lots of games, GL HF!

El Zoido:  9900k + RTX 4090 / 32 gb 3600mHz RAM / z390 Aorus Master

The Box:  3900x + RTX 3080 /  32 gb 3000mHz RAM / B550 MSI mortar
