Phoenix, or the PC literally risen from ashes.

Little update:

I got a couple of Samsung PM963 Enterprise SSDs. Which both came with chonky heatspreaders.

Both are going into the hyper m.2 card.

These SSDs are a bit longer tho, 22110 form factor. And there's a lot of components on the PCB that stick out above the controller or flash chips. This meant that with the stock thermal pad on the hyper m.2 card, the controller wouldn't get cooled. So I cut out a bit of the thermal pad to make it work.

The other SSD in there is a normal sized Intel 760P, which will be retired in favor of two more of these Enterprice SSDs sometime soon.

Next problem tho:

I now have a total of 12 PCIe lanes in SSDs on this card. This means that the X8 slot on the motherboard was no longer going to work.

The next slot down is wired for the full X16 tho, so that's where she now lives.

The problem with this is that ifi ever want to go dual GPU, the GPU will be limited to an X8 slot. Not the end of the world, but not ideal either. Oh well..

What would you want to use dual GPU for ? Isn't it kinda dead in the dirt at this Point ?

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

If I could just play Videogames and consume Cool Content all day long for the rest of my life, then that would be sick.

definitely dead for gaming, but i'm not that much of a gamer anyway. only game i very sporadically boot up is CP2077.

for compute tasks like F@H multi-GPU is very much alive tho!

So some of you might know that my previous build met it's end in a rather unpleasant way.

The bottom GPU power connector caught fire through some shitty Aliexpress adapter, and in turn burned the whole thing down.

Here's some pics of the carnage that followed:
