LG 55SM8600PUA 4k @ 120hz ?!?!

peterletran

So the display is advertised to have 120hz native refresh rate, but I can't seem to get my PC to run 4k @ 120hz.

The computer in question is a Ryzen 3600x on an ASRock aB350 Pro4 with a Radeon 5700 flashed XT
Its running with HydroX watercooling and 32gb 3200mhz vengeance RGB pro and pcie nvme.

I switched from HDMI out to DP out into an HDMI in, but no joy.

I'm thinking its a driver issue.

  • 2 months later...

I have the same tv. It doesn't support 4k/120 as the hdmi ports on the tv aren't 2.1, they are only 2.0. So the panel supports 4k/120 but the tv inputs do not. Irritates the heck out of me as this is one of the reasons I bought the tv last year. Everything they list on their website is technically accurate, yet at the same time, entirely misleading.

That TV is 4k, and 120hz capable. But not at the same time.

It can do 120hz 1080p and 120hz 1440p,

it can NOT do 4k 120hz.
