Which one doesn’t suck?

Linux based phones all currently have the same problems: App support, hardware support, and being half-baked as distrobutions.

I recommend looking at android custom roms that dont ship with google spyware stock.

See https://lineageos.org/ and https://grapheneos.org/

These projects are also useful as alternatives to services that you can only get through google software:

https://f-droid.org/

https://microg.org/

Now that Apple and Google have gone down the path of totalitarianism, it’s time to move to a Linux phone. The question is... which one?  Please review.

That's simple, one that doesn't suck.

I actually like your response.

And, uh, to @blumpy, some of the chin scratching is due to the fact that Android is based on Linux.

I'd give it a few years, and then non-Goggle Linux Distros will possibly make sense. Honestly, I wish Microsoft had put some actual, real effort into making a Phone OS that wasn't half-baked, and wasn't literally just a desktop OS that was half-ass ported to work on non-desktop hardware. I liked Windows Mobile. I just hated the crap out of the hardware. >_>

Right now Linux based smart phones do have their own issue from what I know of them. Either expensive or "Works in Progress". Often even Both.

There is the PinePhone which is still a Work in Progress at the moment and I think you have to put it together yourself.

I could have worded it better.  I should have said an open platform.
