Can you use the Asus 3080/3090 tuf factory backplate with the EK waterblock?

anyone here with asus tuff 3080 or 3090 and EK waterblock? were you able to use the factory back plate on the waterblock? i really don't want to shell out $50 for an ugly AF piece of aluminum....

 

i was able to use factory backplates on EK blocks with a evga 980 ti kingpin, gigabyte 2080ti windforce, etc. i have a 3080 tuf coming from amazon and picking up a block for it now
