But it is on Amazon.ca though. Click the link on that tweet.

It's $40 with free shipping.

Personally I wouldn't buy one, since I'm not a fan of having to unscrew the entire cap off to take a sip...

I much prefer the kind of cap found on this type of bottle.

They are also selling some other merch.

Ahhh. They don't come up when you search "LTT." Kind of odd, considering that's the phrasing they used in the tweet.

So are all the knockoff t shirts and hoodies official? Gotta be some sort of copyright infringement going on there. I seriously doubt those are licensed.

What shirts are you talking about?

LTTStore.com sells official hoodies and shirts, their Amazon store does not (yet?) sell these items.

Because if you look up linus tech tips on amazon, you find a few copyright infringing stuff. From shirts, mugs, mousepads, underwear... etc.

They are pirate copies.... Having official LTTStore as Amazon seller doesn't make everything on Amazon legal. Some of those T-shirts are more than likely just bland as the images seem like they are just photoshopped.

I've used loads of reusable water bottles and the one I've ended up liking most is just a regular 500mL PET bottle you get at the supermarket. It lasts literally forever, it never leaks, and it can handle the most violent abuse. On top of that, it comes with free water when you buy it.

To quote my high school science teacher : " People who purchase bottles of water are not the smartest of the bunch, they are the same kind who are most likely going to be buying air if it was sold in a can ".

Just to be clear I don't buy bottled water on a regular basis. Just when I need a new bottle, which happens every couple or years or so. I bet if I looked after it a bit better it could last even longer.

I used purpose-built refillable bottles for a long time, but they've all disappointed me given their price. I've found that standard throwaway PET bottles are more durable and less likely to leak, and they are only a fraction of the cost, so even if it were to break in some way, who cares, I can just get a new one at any moment in any store. Last thing I want is yet another fragile thing in my bag that I need to take care of.

I haven't actually worked this out, but given just how little resources a PET bottle takes to produce, I suspect you'd have to use that LTT water bottle for at least 10 years to get the same carbon footprint as using a PET bottle for a single year. Just for the environmentalists out there.

Now of course there are benefits to fancy bottles, it's just that I personally don't really give a crap about keeping my water or my looks cool.

Mate.. $40 for a water bottle... that alone makes me not buy one.

If they ever do a partnership with Contigo / get their own branded AutoSeal travel mug, I would definitely get one. Only thing I use now for hot or cold beverages and no flipping or unscrewing a top. So much easier.
