Do you have a TV stand FULL of old consoles? What if I told you that you can reduce it to ONE machine for around $20, assuming you already have an Xbox? Don’t believe me? Watch and find out how.

Glad Linus finally made a video on this its good that its getting more coverage.

Surprised he didn't mention that if you go into the core settings of most cores (at least in the PC version), you can change the rendered resolution and play games at native 4k. Not sure how the Xbox would handle it but on my PC I can run emulated games at 4k 60fps and its a huge difference.

I really hope Xbox kicks PlayStation's ass this generation; Microsoft is making all the right moves while Sony is just resting on their laurels from their easy coasting through last gen with the PS4 (even if the DualSense is pretty neat). As the pinned comment says, Xbox now has better classic PlayStation backwards-compatibility than the PS4 or PS5 do. And Game Pass was a revelation in game delivery that Sony's now trying to play catch-up with.

The Series X is actually the first Xbox console I plan to buy, meanwhile I haven't bought a PlayStation since the PS2 and only really have interest in maybe picking up a DualSense for my PC. Not interested in the PS5 itself outside of Astro's Playroom.

I'm somewhat sad over this video.  The fact that this got traction on YouTube now will force Microsoft to changes once companies like Nintendo starts cuing them.  Happens before and will happen this time.

  • 6 months later...

Not to Necro a thread, but when I try to set up my developer account, Microsoft states I need to use a work account to log in. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this or has Microsoft made it so this can no longer be done?

Pirating lead to the downfall of the Dreamcast

No it didn't, lol. Who writes these scripts?!

There was little 3rd party support, barely any hardware sales and the upcoming PS2 with DVD support. That's why Dreamcast failed.

Also... CD burners were not common in 98/99 as they cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Hell, broadband wasn't common and having a connection to download a 1GB file in a timely manner was rare.
