Yes I would say go for a RTX 3060 if you can find one close to MSRP prices but there is hardly any stock and prices are inflated as a result (supply/demand). Otherwise, wait a couple more months before buying a new GPU.

What is your monitor?  You might have be better off replacing THAT rather than something inside the tower.

I'm very generous with the likes I give out on here; you should be, too.

I never believed in orthopedic inserts, but then I got a pair.  Now, I stand corrected.

My friend gave me his Epi-pen as he was dying.  It seemed very important to him that I have it.

That's pretty good monitor.  The card you have right now isn't AWESOME, but it isn't terrible either.  GPUs are way overpriced right now, far above what they should be.  If you can hold off for a few months, you will get a much better piece of hardware for far less money.  In the meantime, look at your settings in game, things like anti aliasing or water details that you can choose between 8x or 16x, bump those down to 8x (the performance increase will be very noticeable and the dip in video quality will be less than negligible).

My upgrade path would be SSD > better PSU > 3060.

All an SSD does for games is reduce load times, it doesn't do anything for framerate which is what OP seems interested in.

I guess but an SSD could substantially improve the experience.

Wait a few months or just keep trying to hit a 3060 ti. That should give you the best boost in performance although your power supply may be barely enough to support it so you may need to skip that until you can afford a PSU and a GPU. next I would say upgrade the CPU to a third or fifth gen ryzen. You could also try an ssd for better boot times

but a cheap 240gb $25 ssd can do wonders in improving the experience

Ik. I edited my response. He might be able to do a cpu and ssd if he goes second hand for the cpu. Idk how much third gen does for rn

you can sell your gpu+cpu for like $200-$250 and upgrade the cpu to a 3600 or 5600 (whenever that comes out) for about $200 and buy an ssd with the rest of the money and buy a 3060 ti with the $400 you already have

Yes I agree. Also think about an SSD.

The motherboard may have been a good choice.  Apparently asus is apparently upgrading firmware on at least some of their b450 motherboards to allow some modern feature or other with new CPUs. So 5000 series CPUs remain possible.  I am a supporter of the ssd/PSU over gpu or wait thing atm mostly because the gpu market currently is flat out awful.  PSU market isn’t great either, but it’s not as bad as the gpu market.  570 is a 1k card.  Won’t push more than 1080p@60 in most things.  Less in others.  If you can live with that for a bit longer I’d do it if possible.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
