Reporting a status update from the activity page shouldn't drop you on the user's profile

I think this should be improved as part of the status update updates that are coming soon.

This is something I found annoying, but I am unsure if this belongs in the suggestion or bug subforum, so apologies if this thread was a better fit for there.

This page shows off status updates from all users: https://linustechtips.com/main/discover/58/

As we all know, bots often post spam in status updates too. When reporting those status updates, it brings me to their profile page, instead of letting me stay on the "All Status Updates" page. Not sure if that is intended, or just a quirk of the reporting system.

The reasons I wouldn't want to be dropped on a user's profile after reporting are:

- I likely want to keep scrolling on that page

- Since the user is a spam bot, I have no interest in looking at their profile (and the possible annoying content)

Another reason I wouldn't want this has to do with reporting status updates from users that are not bots.

Since you get dropped on a user's profile after reporting it, you also get placed on the "recent visitors" tab. This might not be desired, as the user might suspect you of reporting the status update, for example. (the two above reasons might also apply to "non bot" users).

In short, it would be great if reporting a status update on the "Activity" page would not drop you on the user's profile, so I don't see anymore more of their activity, can keep scrolling on the page and don't appear on their recent visitors tab.

This is of course my opinion, so if you disagree/agree do mention it!

Oh cool.

I had read about the upcoming update, but wanted to bring this up in case it wasn't on the radar.

Will keep my eyes out on if this situation is altered after the update!

It wasn't on the radar, but I have now implemented it.
