I never had problems with Steam, but with Epic I have a problem from time to time. Some time ago, I had a bug whenever I started a game from epic, I got an "application stopped working" message.

its giving me the same error today just out of the blue. i installed windows 10 on a different drive and it worked fine but i still cant get it to work on windows 7. I refuse to move to win 10 though

Hi everyone!

Sorry for my english .I have several PC,all of them working under Windows 7 64 bits,but different hardware like 1650 Super & ryzen 5 ,another pc with rx 550 & Ryzen 5 and Epic works fine,with rx 570 & A8 7600 ( I know,bottleneck..) and works fine,i also have a gforce 750Ti with and A8 7600 and Epic works but i have to write and copy the mail adress  in a notepad and then paste in the Epic launcher because can´t do the @ sign,but in another Pc with the same hardware does not work ,i ¨ve tried all the posible solutions. I have many older Pcs with gforce 730 and 630 with 391.35  nvidia drivers and surprisingly Epic works ok..Until yesterday,after the  launcher´s update,it was working fine as all of you have related..

i dont know dude, probabily today epic games relased an update not compatible for windows 7 and i hope they fix that after see our reports

I have the same issue, started randomly yesterday, wasted most of the day trying all the things discussed here, frustrating, i cant play rocket league because of epic games launcher.

 

The common theme seems to be Windows 7. I dont want to use win`10. my system still works.

for now, win 7 is a minimum requirement in their official site

This is disgusting if it is forced obsolescence, my rig will serve me for a while yet.

Right-click your Epic Games Launcher shortcut

Click Properties.

At the end of the target line, add -OpenGL.

Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32\EpicGamesLauncher.exe" -OpenGL

Click Apply.

Edit: Actually not, the launcher is opening now but I still get the message when I try to download a game.

It works for me...partially.

 

I can run the Launcher and the current games, but i noticed i can't update the launcher or install any new game without the error popping and the launcher crashing. Is the same for you?

My launcher got launch after it but, it still giving some error like:

So I am not marking this as "Solved" as it still is not the proper solution.
