3440x1440 users, what cpu are you using?

I was running a 10700k @5.2ghz with a msi z490 board. I sold the combo for $500 and luckily got a i5 10400 and the same z490 board for $240 open box. Using the same gpu a rtx3070 I saw barely any difference fps wise in the games I play. 
 

Was wondering what cpu people use at the same res I do. 

No cpu mobo or ram atm

R5 3600

 

Generally you won't be seeing a difference between mid - high tier cpu's on a high resolution. Lower res is a different story

When I originally built the pc I had a 1080p monitor so I went hard on my cpu purchase. After going up in res I saw how little of a difference it made. That’s why I sold the i7 combo bought an i5 combo and use the extra I had left over to buy a new keyboard and mouse

Higher resolution puts the load more on the GPU vs CPU.

10900K w/ a MSI MEG Z490 ACE.

That 10400 CPU is no joke! Very solid CPU for gaming.

I don't have a 3440x1440 display but, I can force my monitor to do 1920x1440.

I’m glad I made the switch. The money I had leftover covered my gmmk keyboard and model O wireless mouse. 
I know the higher res you go the less important the cpu gets as long as it’s modern and not ancient. I’ve been reading reviews for weeks at UW and 4k, that’s what made me switch.
