Cyberpunk 2077 finally but will it run for you?

Gamer Schnitzel

Now that they released the benchmarks for Cyberpunk 2077 we can all see how well it will run on our systems.

A lot of people have been gearing up just for this game so I would be curious to see how any of you are faring in the benchmark.

Are you going to play this game? Did you upgrade your PC for it? Was the upgrade worth it or is it still not going to run on max?

I run a GTX 1080 with a 3440x1440 monitor so I'll be lucky to get 50 FPS on medium. I am hoping for a trial version so I can download it and see how it looks. I might hold off with the game until I build a new PC later on.

Though it looks like anyone who truly wants to play it on max details with no compromise has to wait 2 years for the next graphics cards, or settle for DLSS if you get over the fact that it is fake resolution.

Pretty poor performance for a game that doesn't look too advanced. That or a day one patch/low settings are actually very forgiving with not too much of a visual downgrade

i guess i'm one of very few people that dont actually care about CP2077. nothing in any of the trailers or press releases has made me go "woooow, i HAVE to play this". I personally think it got waaaay to hyped which will make people disappointed

Using a 1080ti + 3700x on a 1440p 144hz panel.
First thought I could get to around 80-90fps on ultra, but now I will be happy to get 60 fps constant on medium.
I hope G Sync helps...

What kind of games impress you or made you want to play them?

I don't think it makes sense to upgrade just for one game either especially if it's just a singleplayer game you'll uninstall when you're done. I'm also not going to build a high end PC just to play it on max.

Its one of the better games to launch this year for us PC "plebs". Every else, except Doom, was mediocre in my eyes.

If it's just an upgrade I would probably be more willing to do. I'm on a laptop right now and have no access to my desktop, which means I can only build from scratch.

But the "character customization"!!!

It's in the same boat was WD:L to me. I do have it hoping that it's a horribly broken game. Boy did Watch Dogs Legion not let me down either!

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I imagine you'll be able to get considerably better performance than that if you tweak some settings.

I don't think companies have put out trail versions of games in well over a decade... ;)

DLSS isn't really fake resolution. It just downgrades resolution for areas you're not looking at. It's considerably better than what AMD's implementation was.

I wouldn't put much weight into performance numbers before the day one patch.

Luckily I don't really need to worry about settings too much; playing on a 10700k/RTX 3080 system.

Different strokes for different folks 🤷‍♂️

I don't think it was over hyped, it seems about right for the developer and their quality of content.

Not putting too much value on performance tests done on more-or-less unfinished product with Denuvo on it, but seems that at 1080p with 2060S I'll be hitting 60/75 with a mix of high/ultra as expected. Funny to see how DLSS actually wrecks it completely, but of well, overall pretty much as expected.

Didn't specifically build a new PC to run this game, but did get back into PC gaming (coming from Xbox One) in early summer this year, so built and tinkered with my rig with half an eye on getting a decent CB2077 experience. Running a 2600 @4.2ghz and 5700xt 8GB strix on a 1080p panel so should get at least medium to high settings for the most part I would have thought?

Ironically, my graphics card might be my biggest bottleneck in my current rig. I only have an Nvidia 1050Ti, hopefully it will be enough for medium or even low. I'm not expecting too much, Doom Eternal runs pretty well on my rig and looks fine so I'm quite hopeful.

We know the DRM hinders performance, we know that it is without patch 1 and new drivers and we know that they used a bloody high tier GPU with a semi tier CPU on 1080p..... who the... does that.

I have no concerns about performance.

Like Control it is a TR must have game.  To get a good balance the DLSS "quality" setting must be used so with my rig it is 1440p with RT and DLSS with frames between 60 and 90. LTT did a video that shows this better than I can explain.

I consider the game cruel to all that use less than a 2080ti/3070. It is Especially cruel to AMD big navi users and I am hoping AMD can do something about it,

I am shelving the game because there are too many game breaking bugs that sort of remind me of Bethesda.

Lets just hope it does not get abandoned like Mass Affect Andromeda. I would still love to play that game but the bugs stop me every time I try.

The Sony and Microsoft VPs for the console department should be sued and imprisoned for their crimes against the gaming community. I have said this from the very beginning long before the consoles were even announced. THEY ARE TOO WEAK! They should have doubled the cost and upped the gear significantly. You CANNOT call a console "next gen" if it runs the FIRST games that come out on it at 30 fps. If the games NOW run at 30 fps, how will the games run in a few years when they are supposed to look better?? Every reviewer keeps saying there will be more newer games that take advantage of the hardware and I always think WAHT THE FUCK? How the hell will newer games take FULL advantage of the hardware if it is already running at low fps? They made a new Spiderman patch today which LOWERS YOUR RESOLUTION so that you can have a smoother experience with RT.

Those consoles are garbage and should have never been approved for production. People are all buying them for over 1k on eBay so people are VERY OBVIOUSLY willing to pay much more for them. They should have simply put better hardware and a higher price. They are essentially junk and will end up being e-waste which we do NOT need more of.

Lol Cyberpunk on consoles looks like GTA 4 on PSP. Considering that it brings even the RTX 3080 down below 60 FPS its gonna be practically unplayable on consoles

God I was looking at Gamegpu.ru's benchmark and 1660 Super (what I'm running) gets 43 fps, 1060 39 fps, and RX 580 a completely hideous 29 fps on 1080p ultra in their city walking benchmark. As I'm also running an old 4C/8T cpu (Xeon E3-1231v3) I'm just wondering if I'll even be able to lock to 30 fps in this game.

I've actually heard it's very playable on Stadia...just a shame the service itself isn't the best.

I have a 2060, i5 10400f, 16gb RAM, so I'm unsure if I'm going to be able to play it - especially as I play at 1440p.

I suspect it'll be too much for me at anything approaching acceptable fps (meaning 60 minimum) with that monitor.

That's just my assumption, however, but I think it's correct.

There is no current gen console version of the game. The PS5 and Series X are pretty awesome hardware but for this game they're stuck running crap ports designed for PS4 and XB1 with their dogshit Jaguar core cpus and lower end for even 2013 level gpus.
