Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: minecraft and sea of thieves when he has upgraded the graphics card

Other details i would prefer a apu because hes going to buy a graphics card in the next year.

what parts would you use? and what graphics card should he buy when he does?

For the apu I would go for a 3400g, you really need to wait a bit though until cpu prices go down to normal

it would be in janurary/feb depending on prices

An rx570 can be had for relatively cheap, probably even more so in a few years

ask again 1-2 weeks before you're ready to build, anything we send you now will likely be irrelevant by then.
