Yes it would be a problem. Take a minute and think about the logistics of flying someone in from a different country during a global pandemic and then get back to us

Depending on the quality of travel restrictions: Fly them in, have them tested (if required), do the rig with masks, fly them back. Are all the contestants from the US? If someone would be from Canada would of course be much easiert.

Jumping in here to clear some items up. 

 

Travel between US + Canada is on lockdown unless it's considered essential need I believe, but primarily we don't want to run a risk of someone getting while they were traveling to or back from our offices regardless if they're in Canada or the US. 

 

We felt this was the best alternative instead of picking 3 local Vancouver BC winners only.

That indeed is quite strict for a border that is usually crossed very regularly by lots and lots of people. For sure there is always a non-zero risk even during normal times, I was just thinking that using appropriate caution it would be quite manageable and add a lot of value to the video. Limiting the choice to locals only would obviously suck.

Currently a few reasons you can cross the boarder(last time I looked it up):

• You have family in Canada
• You are going to Alaska
• You drive a truck for goods/fly a plane etc/operate a freight train etc
• You are a Canadian citizen
• You are coming to work in Canada, including but not limited to health care
• Own a property in Canada that isn't rented out/managed

Anyone who crosses the boarder falls under the quarantine act and is legally obligated to be in isolation for 14 days the second you cross the boarder. This includes no takeout no nothing, go to where you plan on living for 2 weeks and don't leave.

Overall I do think this is the proper choice to do the contest this year.

idk, with current market situation I'm sure there would be hundreds if not thousands willing to isolate for a whole month (2 weeks here, 2 weeks back at home assuming equal standards)  for a Ryzen 5th gen and a 3080 Tho idk if the law would even permit winners into the country to "claim" their prize. Game Theory gave away several flights Tuesday around the world and stated "when safe to travel" so it's a grey area to me. Wouldn't be surprised if it isn't allowed. Over all right choice to make
