Samsung CHG90 white bar

So I purchased a Samsung 49 inch ultra wide CHG90 this past weekend and set it up. Every so often when I am either in full screen mode or playing a game I will get a ~3 inch white bar flicker across the monitor for a split second. Is this a case of the freesync 2.0 issues I've read about with the monitor? I am considering exchanging it but I can't seem to shake that it'll happen even on another monitor. I currently run a GTX 1080 and a ryzen 2700x. Anyone have a similar issue or advice on the matter?
