AMD Ryzen 9 5950x build - new mobo? Which one would be best?

Vsec

Budget (including currency): Going rate for a 5950x (instore) and up to €400 for the mobo.

Country: central europe

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Not much gaming anymore. Will focus on productivity tasks such as the whole adobe suite and 3ds max + Corona renderer.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

This is my current setup:
CASE: be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Orange
CPU COOLER: Be quiet! Dark Rock PRO 4
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: GTX 1080ti gaming X 11G
MOBO: X470 GAMING PRO CARBON X470
RAM: G.Skill 16GB DDR4-3200 32GB DDR4 3200MHz
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 850W

Drives:

Samsung 970 evo 2T M.2 SSD
5 x 3,5" Sata drives

Samsung 860 evo 500 gb 2,5" SSD (containing a spare OS incase something fails and I still need to deliver a project)

Currently just looking to upgrade to the new Ryzen 9 5950x and probably a new MOBO because of that and to future proof it a bit more.
I'm planning to upgrade my GPU when (or if) a 3080ti will be released or else maybe a 3090, but that one is really expensive for what you get. Nvidia is needed due to certain software programs.

My main question is, which new mobo should I go for? Or, since I'm on X470.. can/should I keep it?

What I'm looking for in a MOBO: At least 8 SATA ports. I'm running a lot of drives and would like to keep it that way. Yes I also have a NAS and I'm planning to upgrade that aswell. But I'm a nostalgic data hoarder :) . It would also be nice If using a m.2 didn't disable a SATA port which it does on my current board.
The second most immortant part is a lot of USB ports because of several peripherals. This made me pick the ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO SOCKET AM4 ATX AMD X570. I'm also looking at ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING or ASUS ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING. The downside would be less usb's but it's cheaper and bluetooth would also be nice for a wireless headset :). I also have a small soundcard, it would be nice if there was still room for it. This is because I permanently have speakers and a headset plugged in. I also have another headphone plugged in via a DAC.

I'm I missing another possible option for great board? Or are these the best options? I wanted to have some reassurance before purchasing.

Thanks for reading my long text :)

While it is indeed overkill, othersdon't have enough sata ports and usb ports. And this one also gas Bluetooth. If you can think of a less overkill board i would love to hear it.

Only thing that sucks when building Ryzen 5000 series is that you don't have many "Ryzen 5000 ready" motherboards. I'd pick something really cheap as I don't plan overclocking or upgrading and any would do really, but I had to take a bloody 300€ one so it has Flashback function and I can upgrade it myself at home. I don't have anyone with older Ryzen around and neither I can call AMD for that upgrade kit. So, take that into consideration too.

According to some unboxings/reviews the Crosshair VIII Dark Hero seems to be Zen 3 ready. It is also net yet available in country so I have to wait if I get this one.

Ok, considering he already has Ryzen, he really doesn't need gaming/overclocking boards. They are just stupid expensive. Just look for one with I/O that you need and that's that. Overclocking Ryzen 5000 series is rather pointless as they clock really high on their own (and it'll be productivity system where stability is more important). Zen 4 most likely won't be for AM4 anymore anyways so upgrading is also out of the question then. Buying 500€ board is just silly. I'd look at those around 200-250€ if you can find one, maybe max 300€.

This is whre i have to agree. People buying 400-500$ boards for 5800X or 5900X is ridicolous. Same with 5950x. you coudl run 5050X overclocked with 200$ board easily. But thsi guy need 8 usb and 8 sata so i linked a couple of them which have them.

It's a waste of money, as you currently have a x470 board. Just update it's bios to the latest rev. on your manufacturers website and get one of those pcie to usb expansion card, if you want more USB ports.

You need one of these..
