Need help with knowing how much ram and what ram speed my computer can handle.

So I want to upgrade my laptop's ram but I don't know the ram limit or the ram speed limit anyone knows an app or a tool that can do that? (I've searched for my motherboard's on the internet but didn't found anything)

if you don't tell us what your motherboard/laptop is there's absolutely no way we can help you

Sorry my bad. My laptop model is: 81FL0089GM (Lenovo Ideapad 330 17 inch intel) and My motherboard model is: LNVNB161216. I found from crucial that the max ram it can handle is 20gb with 4gb soldered on the board, from command promt I found that both of my ram sticks are 2400 mhz with 4gb each (Only 1 slot on motherboard). So should I buy a 16gb ram stick with 2400 mhz or with 2666 mhz?

Also, command promt says its 2400 mhz speed but cpu z says its 2666mhz. Should I buy 2400 mhz or 2666 mhz?image.thumb.png.967619c56de4fa881394176d8951a174.pngimage.thumb.png.0d829571444883b170f25bafc8e956c6.png

i assume your sticks are both 2999mhz, but your motherboard caps it at 2400mhz

well i'm not an expert in laptops, but if you have 4gb SOLDERED on the board then i say try to find a 16gb stick that matches the same speed as your 4gb one.

There is no guarantee it's going to work.
