I found this bios on the ASUS website for my motherboard. Just to mention I have a 3700x and really do not need to update the bios. I  was looking to see if there might be one available for an update to the 5000 series. This is assuming of course that they magically appear out of the ether they seem to be mucked in. As pic explains, it should not be updated when using 1000,2000,or 3000 series. It does not show up on the cpu bios support page for any cpu including the 5000 series. Any ideas what this bios is for? Yes I know it says new cpu. but what new cpu.

Well that was a fairly decent answer. What is not mentioned is this is actually an update to use a 5000 series cpu. You did however lead me in the right direction. This article explains it a bit better.  https://www.tomshardware.com/news/agesa1180-drops-on-asus-b450x470-motherboards

Thank you for your help

Same with my Gigabyte board,Beta BIOS version F60c popped out with a vague and misleading description:

Quote
  1. Enhance CPU compatibility

And there are reports of people flashing it without knowing that it's a beta BIOS,Gigabyte doesn't mention it anywhere, they released it like a normal BIOS update:
