4GB DDR2 modules for Intel G31?

My friend has an Asrock G31M-S motherboard and a Core 2 Quad Q6600.

The mobo says it supports 8 gigs of ram max, he has 2*2gb sticks now. I was thinking of gifting him 2*4gb modules but I can only find AMD ram for any sort of reasonable price.

My question is, does his mobo and cpu support this AMD density ram, or only normal density? The chipset datasheet is 800 pages long, it says the following about memory support:

Quote

Supports 512 Mb and 1 Gb DDR2 DRAM technologies for x8 and x16 devices

on page 22, but I'm unsure as to what this actually means.

Motherboard specs

Chipset specs

Chipset datasheet

Thanks

Most AMD memory doesnt work on Intel platforms in this time period/platform. You have a 50% chance it works.
