Do M.2 A key WiFi cards work in M.2 E key sockets?

WhitetailAni

Hello!

I'm swapping a WiFi card in a computer as I think it's defective, but the card I'm replacing it work has an A key, while the original card uses the E key.

The A key card fits in the E key slot, but will they work? I don't want to break it because it's not mine, it's a friend's.

Hoping for quick responses - he needs it working as soon as possible (and no this is not for me, it is really for a friend who lives across the street.)

Worst case scenario it just doesn't work. There shouldn't any power issues to break the other card.

New A key card doesn't work.

But now the old card works fine?
I guess it was loose or something.
