Asrock RX 570 black screen.

Got a replacement GPU about 3 months ago and the other day was playing Destiny 2. Switched over to Dead by Daylight custom lobby with my friends. As the lobby started loading the screen went black and the sound in my headset glitched out. Turned it off and on and it was working fine. As soon as I started a game up again and it tried to load in it crashed again. Third time screen went black but sound didnt glitch. Could still hear everything fine but no luck with the video. Checked the GPU and the fans werent running and kinda smelt like a soldering iron but nothing was hot. Now the PC boots and everything seems fine even the GPU fans but still a black screen. Checked the HDMI and monitor itself and theres no problems. Have tried taking the GPU out and putting it back in but still no luck. Have no clue what's going on. Also have tried with a DVI cable in-case the HDMI port is fried and still no luck.

Do you have another video card to test with?

Try a different slot on motherboard?

Do you have a different GPU to test the computer

or a different computer to test the GPU?

ive had the same problem with a Powercolor Red Devil RX470, and the GPU would work after reballing

check first if the gpu works on another computer or you could try reballing the GPU or purchase a different GPU

Dont have another computer or GPU, been meaning to upgrade my GPU but its a bit depressing that this has happened now due to me going on holiday for two months on Friday and also choosing to buy a PS5 since the 570 isnt too bad with the games I played with my friends, the PS5 had more exclusives and was a cheaper option. Anyway I guess I'll have to get a new GPU. Any recommendations on good GPUs that will be able to run next gen games well while not being too bank breaking?

If you are looking to get ray tracing as cheap as possible your best bet is a used RTX2060, a better GPU would be the RTX 3060Ti if you can get it since they're seems to be out of stock

Btw, you could also try baking your current RX570 in an oven who knows it'll start working , sometimes this works sometimes not

Above advice is good advice
Though there is going to be an RTX 3060 at some point.

You might be able to snag one if it comes out next year like it supposedly will.
