Is the Corsair CV650 really different from the Corsair CV450 and CV550

Filingo

I've seen in many places about claims that the CV450 and CV550 are the same as the VS series only with bronze efficiency, whereas the CV650 is different and has DC-DC and is closer to the CX series.

The CV650 is also listed here higher than the CV450/CV550:  https://linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psucultists-psu-tier-list/  (However still the same level as the old CX GREEN series😳)

On Corsair website it doesn't say anything about that, but on Amazon Corsair is selling all the CV 450/550/650w under "CV (fixed cables, without DC-DC topology)".

So what's the real information about the CV?

CV650 has DC-DC, while 550 and 450 do not.

Any source? Teardown? Even Corsair don't mention it

It should download a .pdf. Check your downloads (shortcut in most web browsers is Ctrl + J)

thank you. So the CV650 is an alright PSU? how does it fair against the CX650?

It's better than group regulated PSUs, but it's still a basic PSU. A Corsair CX-M (like CX550M, CX650M) is better, and Corsair CX (like CX550, CX650) is even better as it uses a more advanced primary side topology.
