I Just Cannot Decide What PSU

There's also the Enermax Revolution DF and Corsair HX, though considering they're $20-40 more expensive according to PCPP, I don't feel like there's any point in going for either over the RMx.

I'd go for the Corsair RMx 850W (which is currently $35 off at Best Buy). It's fully modular, 80+ gold, and in Tier A of the PSU tier list. 850W seems like the sweet spot for your config to me.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Unrelated to your question, but you do not need to spend $170 for a windows key. You can buy one off of ebay for significantly less and with buyer protection, you are pretty much safe from getting sold a fake key.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Yeah I'm not actually going to buy that windows key for $170 lol. It's just in there to show which OS I'm going run. Thanks for the concern though.

Thank you guys for the input. I'm probably going to get the RM850x, but do you guys know what the quality is like? I understand that it's tier A, but I've always had EVGA psu's, so is this corsair PSU built with high quality in mind (the electricals, etc)? Or do you think I need to increase my PSU budget for a quality PSU? Thanks.

The rmx line is very good and very high quality. I definitely recommend it.

RMx line is very good quality. Good capacitors, cooling, and pretty nice cables too. Definitely don't need to increase your budget. The only PSUs over $200 CAD are like 1000W+, which you only really need if you're running something stupid like two 3090s in SLI.

you definitely do not want to go cheap on PSU. get anything that is 80 plug gold is good enough.. brands from Corsair, EVGA , Seasonic will be fine..

personally I like Seasonic and Corsair as their modular cables are flat, easy to do cable management. I dislike cables that are sleeves. 1st hard to bend, 2nd add more weight and 3rd very hard to keep them in place and tons of cable ties needed. If able to get at least a 750 to 850watts..
