Are 4 sticks of RAM bad for performance?

Recently went from 2 sticks of Ripjaws V 3600 16-19-19-39 to 4 sticks of Trident Z Neo 3600 16-16-16-36, each 8 GB for a total of 32 GB.

 

I have a Ryzen 9 3900X and ROG Strix B550-F. Does having 4 sticks instead of two hurt performance a lot on Ryzen? I wanted to fill all slots since it was bothering me.

 

The IF is running 1:1 at 1800, timings are as advertised, voltage 1.35v. Everything works fine. But I'm not sure about the performance difference.

if you speed stayed the same then it didn't hurt performance. on ryzen5000 running 4 sticks can cause a few % gain.

I believe it could have memory issues on earlier Ryzen generations, specifically 1st Gen Ryzen. By 3rd gen Ryzen, they ironed out those issues so you shouldn't have a problem.

It bothered me with my rig and I just placed the 8 sticks in yesterday evening.

Two ranks per channel improves performance at the same clocks and timings, let alone when they are better. Only time when they are bad is when you have to slow down frequency because more capacity memory makes it harder to run fast (and a problem with older Zen CPUs), which doesnt apply here.

Okay nevermind I'm just dumb and didnt realize the framerate values are almost the same. In the "Before" one, I was overclocked. On the "After" one, I wasn't. Ignore that lol.

 

So the performance should be fine?

Passmark and Userbenchmark results being worse than my previous ones, and me not realizing the last time I ran them was when I was overclocked. My GPU is performing as it should in virtually every game, if not better. Thanks for your answers
