The COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE H100 ARGB GAMING CASE

Turveynator

Hello

Im aware this case is a little outdated but I really can't find anything else with the nice aesthetics with the same portability as this (unless someone else knows better). After looking at reviews its appears this case has a problem with airflow and I worry a Ryzen 5900x and a RTX 3070 would simply not work in this chassis.

All I want is a SFF build in which is portable like a console I want to as best I can avoid tempered glass. What appeals to me about this case is its price its design and its carry handle. It ticks all my boxes. It appears this case never got much interest as its really hard to find reviews on it by the likes of LTT, GN and Jayztwocents with me only finding one stating that the original design of this case was to not house a full size GPU (RIDICULOUS IDEA) ,now if it was meant to be my spare pc I wouldn't mind so much but it will be replacing my current build so its needs a dedicated GPU for gaming.

SO what I am trying to ask here is:

Does this case suck to the point that even using a AIO cooler for the CPU I would still have high temps and the sound of the COD MW2 harrier permanently in my room. And if so could a work around be done or a modification be made so that it does not suck ? I'm fully willing to just cut a big (but attractive) hole in it if needed.

Do you recommend any other small cases that would be better suited for my needs but will not cost me an arm and a leg ?

Thank you for all your replies ( I realise this may be an extremely niche question)

This case is NOT portable by any means. It's very large in terms of mITX standards.

Oh, 100%. Any dGPU you insert will have zero airflow, so unless it's passively cooled or an iGPU, forget about getting max performance out of it. The effort to try to make that case work would be not worth it IMO.

Cooerlmaster makes the NR200 as a start, and you can look into smaller enclosures like the Fractal design Node 2020 or Silverstone RVZ01/02/03

Well thank you very much I was under the impression this was small obviously I failed to do my research properly. Massive shame that no dGPU will work not sure what coolermaster was thinking with this thing.

Thank you for your recommendations I will for sure be looking into those.

Thank you

Honestly I dont know. That case had a lot of potential when it was first teased at CES in 2019 but I noted it's flaws immeidately and all reviewers agreed; a 200mm fan doesnt do much if the rest of your system cant take advantage of it.

Their H500 series cases are much better designed, and their NR200 is arguably one of the best sub $70 ITX 18L cases on the market

That case aesthetically is very pleasing to me anyway I was hoping someone else like me who has the tools available had maybe modified it to work but alas it appears it dead in the water.

So Ive looked up what  you had recommended and I like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01580NMDS/ref=emc_b_5_i and also this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SilverStone-SST-RVZ03B-Mini-ITX-Gaming-Computer/dp/B073PGMRN1/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=silverstone+rvz&qid=1606768742&s=computers&sr=1-1 now I at first glance can not see a massive difference between the two aside from the RGB in the front panel (I also slapped myself my self when I saw how small these cases can be) am I mistaken or does the SilverStone SST-ML08B-H have a downside Im not aware of (you can remove the logo POG CHAMP) ? It being half the price im assuming there is.

No downsides. They should be nearly identical pricing but since A sales and B really weird case market due to weird import, pricing on the ML08 is just cheaper than the RVZ03 (and RVZ02 which actually shares the internal layout but different exterior paneling.)

There are some minor differences between the cases you should note:

The RVZ03 can hold a full size ATX PSU (which is unusual), but I'd still recommend an SFX PSU for the easiest build in the case.

If you want better ideas of how systems look and insight on any "gotchas" you might encounter, I'd check PCPartPicker for actual builds using that case.
