Help me please before my cpu temp reaches -0

flugel90

I have a big issue with my pc situation.
I have a i9 9900k and a nvidea geforce rtx 2080.
Im not rich, So you can inmagine its very precous to me.
Now the problem is that i use my pc outside the house(not allowed to smoke inside).
And its starting to get colder since last night between 3 and -3 in the day.
Would this break my pc due to condens or temp shifts ?
To clearify i dont turn on my ice cold pc inside.
Its only been turned on outside for the past few months.
Cpu temp was 8°under full load last night. (aircooled).

Should i stop taking it outside starting today.

Condensation only happens if you bring the cold PC into the warm air inside. Staying in the cold is not a problem.

But staying in 0°C and using a PC at a desk, really? I could never stand that.

You could always adjust fan-speeds as well. There's literally zero reason for the fan to even be running in the first place, if the CPU is below 30 degrees, so you could just hop into BIOS and adjust the curves accordingly.

So basicly if i take it inside for the night and leave it off it would also be a issue?

condensation occurs when the parts are sub-ambient, meaning if their temps are lower than ambient temps

if your ambient is -3c and your pc is -3c, no condensation will occur

but if your pc is -3c and you bring it into your warm house, condensation may be an issue

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

It rlly is a fwp and i should quit smoking but cant(weak willed).

I am basicly evicted to the garden playhouse sadly, so your guess was right on the mark.

But i carry the pc no trolley needed.

Can this cause issues even if it has 12h a day to warm up and dry out?

as long as it's warmed up to around the same temp as indoors, it's fine

humidity is also a factor, but just try to play safe

If it has doors that close you could potentially insulate it for not a whole lot of money then get a space heater and have a cool place to game.
