Used HP Z420 RAM Configuration

Hi everybody. I bought a used HP Z420 workstation today for personal use. It came with 4 x 2GB and 1 x 8GB for a total of 16GB. 4 DIMM slots have a heatsink and fan over it and the other 4 do not.  What would be the optimal DIMM slots to put the RAM in?
