NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Fire Strike and Time Spy Scores Surface:

The scores put the RTX 3060 Ti slightly ahead of the previous-generation high-end GeForce RTX 2080 Super. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti reportedly has 4,864 CUDA Cores, 38 second-gen RT cores, 152 third-gen Tensor cores, and 8 GB 14 Gbps GDDR6 over a 256-bit wide bus. It's expected to cost $399, nearly half as cheap as the RTX 2080 Super.

For the most valid comparisons, I pruned the results to include the same CPU, and of course limited the pack to the same Crazy 1080p preset. In doing that, it shows the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti performing about on par with a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. That would be impressive if it actually shakes out that way when the card launches. A GeForce RTX 3070, meanwhile, scores 9000, which is just short of 14 percent higher than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. And the 9,500 score posted by the Radeon RX 6800 is around 20 percent higher.

 

Over at Geekbench, a purported GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is shown achieving a CUDA score of 133,974. It gets tricky comparing this kind of data as well, but if looking at the average CUDA scores collected by Geekbench, the GeForce RTX 3070 averages 145,060, which is around 8.3 percent higher.

 

The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti also posted a 107,970 Vulkan score, and 123,279 OpenCL score. Things go off the rails here a bit, as the average Vulkan score for a GeForce RTX 3070 is 97,130. We know it is a faster card, so this underscores the problem with leaked data.

 

As for the OpenCL score, the GeForce RTX 3070 averages 132,046, which is around 7.1 percent higher than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.

Given that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is likely set to hit the market with a ‘Founders Edition’ MSRP of $399.99, the prices listed above are, quite frankly, a little bit more expensive than we both expected and hoped. Put simply, it seems that the 3060 Ti, depending on their specifications, will see custom designs ranging from around $480 all the way up to potentially $600. – Quite a lot of money for a GPU that is only expected to dwell in the ‘mid-tier’ market.

First, starting with the headline story, I must say performance above an RTX 2080 Super is quite exceptional, especially at the expected $399 price (2080 and 2080 Super were $699 - $799 cards) . Leaves plenty of room for a 3060 non-Ti @ 2070 Super performance for $300-ish price point. There seems to be some instances though of AIB cards being slightly overpriced than expected, but we will have to see if that actually pans out (often inflated prices are shown frequently before launch from retailers). Sadly, however, the Ethereum performance being good may prove to make the card quite unavailable (and unobtainable), also considering another circulating story regarding NV Ampere sales to crypto miners. Lastly, the AoTS scores make the 3060 Ti look seriously promising (Geekbench too), but we'll have to see some independent benchmarks/results from reviewers before we start saying it performs like or near an RTX 2080 Ti. Launch is supposedly occurring Wed, December 2nd, so in three days we'll hopefully have all the deets.

Fire Strike and Time Spy are "regular" benches under the 3DMark umbrella. Port Royal is their raytrace bench. I can't remember the differences between the benches, but I think Time Spy was the DX12 one.

timespy is DX12 (night raid is lite version)

FIrestrike is DX11 (sky diver is lite version)

Port royal is RT

Wild life is Vulkan (new) but only a lite version.

The 3070 are priced at 3080 prices tho. And 3080's are almost at 3090 prices. RX 6800XT are basically all at 1000€. WTF?! Whole market is totally f**ked right now. I'm sticking with GTX 1080Ti for god knows how long. I'm currently in the process of upgrading everything but the graphic card. Even managed to get Ryzen 5800X. Also treated myself with 1440p 144Hz IPS gaming monitor. Expecting to gain enough fps with new CPU that I'll remain on same fps even with 1440p display (before I had 1080p). Then I'm just gonna sit on GTX 1080Ti until RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT drops to normal prices. No way I'm paying 200-300€ more for any of it. It's ridiculous. It just sucks I can't use ray tracing in games I have planned to play (Shadow of Tomb Raider in particular so I can finish the franchise marathon). And I'll be skipping Cyberpunk 2077 too until I get the graphic card that can do RT. Don't want to ruin the experience for first time play as all repeated gameplays are just never the same again...
