Super Low FPS in Warzone with 3080 & 5600x

adb1028

Hey guys I just finished my first build which I made specifically to play Warzone. I am getting 90-100fps @ 1440p high settings with no change when set to low. I was expecting 150fps average with this kind of hardware. I am on the latest drivers. Can anyone please help?

try to overclock. turn on PBO if you are inexperienced. also run some stress tests to see where your cpu and gpu stop clock speed wise. can we also get your temps?

Really? Every benchmark I have seen on YouTube with this hardware is 150 FPS average easy

these videos are also often fake... he's probably running at super low settings... something I would recommend you to do as well if you care so much about high fps.

what's your monitor's refresh rate btw?

Most people I've seen discussing it on forums say otherwise. So. 🤷‍♂️

That gameplay also drops down to 105 at points. Did you match your settings to his exactly?

This is how I feel.

I've got a 9700k, 2080 Super, 16GB DDR4, and I'm getting 80-120 fps in Warzone too. Settings literally don't matter, maxed or on all low I seem to get the exact same framerate +/- 5 fps or so.

I have noticed that my CPU is always maxed at 100%, and my GPU hovers between 80 and 90%.

Then I learn that my friend running a 1600AF and a R9 Fury X also gets the exact same framerate... I'm convinced that Warzone just runs like trash.

I fixed it. I followed this guide. I don’t know which part actually fixed it but I’m getting 170 FPS+ on all high and 140+ on high + RTX

So no, the game isn’t supposed to run at 90 FPS with $2000 worth of the latest high end tech lol.

Like I said. Settings.

Also, I don't really consider changing the config files the same thing.

so I was right about low settings, they're even haxxing the ini to get better perf.

all nice and dandy, IF they tell you about that lol (which I suppose most "benchmark" videos don't)

in fact, it actually kinda is lol, they don't expect users to tweak inis and such just to get higher frames that most likely exceed their monitors refresh rates...

No, I’m on all high/ultra settings. I followed the instructions on the video. It seemed to fix the issue, then I bumped the in game settings back to max with RTX on and I’m getting 140+ FPS. Which is what I was expecting.

i don’t really get the point you guys are trying to make. It doesn’t matter how I got there, but I’m now getting the high frames on high settings I was hoping to get.

What’s ini? I don’t think I did that. All I did was change the config file to 6 core render count and matched his settings in the Nvidia control panel. I didn’t do the rest of the stuff he did in that video

umm, ok then. I agree, getting the frames you wanted is what matters most, but the way you get there at least matters a little bit as image quality will likely suffer, also with ini and NV control panel tweaks you can simply disable certain effects regardless of "in game settings" (which is what I was getting at).

And for example some benchmarks will throw an error if you change certain things in NV control panel also, because they indeed improve "performance" while also lowering overall quality (which is kinda contradictory to the whole "performance" thing)

Ok! Thanks for the input. I haven’t noticed any decrease in image quality, then again I wasn’t really paying attention to that in the first place, I was more concerned with the frames. From what I understand this game is optimized like shit on PC.

Yeah, no problem, and as said I agree it depends on priorities for sure.

me, I want 60fps *locked* and *high* image quality for example.

I've seen Jayztwocents recommend to set "texture quality" to performance in order to gain some "free fps" because "no one would ever see the difference between quality and performance texture settings"...

Tried this, games looked immediately like shit... lol...

So yeah, it depends and definitely you can improve performance with some tweaks, but that obviously doesn't mean the game is *not* shitty optimized. 😛

Dude im having the same issue, i have a 5600x at 4.65ghz all core oc and asus tuf rtx 3080. It gets like 120-140fps on low 1440p. It SHOULD be getting close to 170-200. I really dont fucking get it. I know the issue, its low gpu usage. GPU usage sits around like 60-70s % if it was able to run at 95+% it would get those 170-200fps. I dont know how to fix this.

For a while now I've had Warzone fps go up and down.

Some days it'll push into the 100+ range, other days it'll hover closer to 70-80.

I'm using a 2060, i5 10400f, 16 gb RAM, running at 1440p, and I get between 75-90 on average with everything turned up, except stuff like film grain, and some lowering of shadows.

So, if i can get that with my average setup, I'd expect the OP to get closer to the 140ish he's wanting - he is using an OC 3080 after all.

"config.ini"  you know exactly the thing the poster changed apparently... you can do a lot of things with these that you can't do in game usually, like lighting etc, which either can improve your framerates, or the opposite...
