Budget 2.5gbps networking question

kyn1972

So I am considering trying to wire my 4 bedroom home up including the living room and I am wondering if there is a solution that will not cost me an arm and a leg?

I just need a rough ballpark amount that I am probably looking at is all assuming I decide to take the plunge.

Basically all you need is a 2.5g switch, lan wires聽and a card on every end.

budget 2.5g switch cost around 100-300usd

cheap cards is around 15-50 usd.

you will also need a router for the dhcp server, it doesnt need to be 2.5g, i guess you already own one.

it goes:

Internet => router => switch => pc1, pc2 and so on.

all pc connected to the switch will be 2.5g.

to the router it will be 1g.
