Need help with a PC build, starting from scratch AMD preferred

SN3S

Budget (including currency): $AUD2000

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Davinci BlackMagic Resolve with a some graphics and animation for creating videos (Average video size for 1080p would be 2GB or more), Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Origins, Valhalla, Starcraft II, ARK Survival Evolved, AOE II, Wolcen, Destiny 2, SOTR.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Starting from scratch, would mainly need it as a work horse to go through video editing work almost everyday. Gaming few days a week on half the games. within the next 2 months I need to slowly build it up by buying parts when they are cheaper or available. 144HZ would be good and some raytracing as well. but raytracing is not a priority. Resolution should be 1440p or 4k.

do you think I should wait for the Ryzen 7 5900X or go with the 5600x?

Do you need 5900x? if yes, why not?

5600x is probably going to be okay, it beats the best intel (10 cores - 10900k).

best of all, it's available for you today, a luxury the us buyers dont have.

If you want 5900x you can buy it later, sell the 5600x for the same if not slightly lower price, people still gonna buy it.

I would try to get a 5900X for your work stuff with Davinci Resolve. It does cut down rendering times by quite a bit and saving you time will make it worth the investment both in time and money

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

The parts list has some compatability issues:

  •  Warning! Some AMD B550 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vermeer CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
  •  Note:The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.

do you have any potential subs for them?

nothing to worry about, the warnings are typical for all B550 boards.

you have to update the bios to support ryzen 5000, you can ask the sellers to do it.

only the 2nd M.2 will disable the sata port.

wait until 1-2 weeks before you saved up enough to buy everything, then buy it all at once. if anything breaks and it goes past the 1-2 week return window then an RMA would set you back some time.

Yeah probably a good idea, but unfortunately not all of the parts are available from the same spot. But will keep it in mind.

Just wondering, if you can suggest a Cooler for this :

, I have updated the list to include the 5800x which will be available from tomorrow. Also any quirky case suggestions that does not cost me like the cougar conquer 2 would be welcome as well.

you don't have to buy everything from one site, most will tell you the ETA on the product page.

I have made some changes to the list based on more research, just wondering if anyone can help me with the case with either pre-fitted RGB or reduced cost tempered glass with good airflow cheap case. Also the mother board is something i picked out as full ATX because i thought it was needed, as I need a board with built in Wifi and atleast one USB 3.2 type C port for the front panel. Any cooler for a first timer for 5800X for such a case with a good RGB or tiny programable display that is cheaper than the one on the list would be amazing as well.

Am adding the new list below:
