Using HDMI 2.1 ips TV as monitor (photoediting, 4k gaming)

xxx68

Hello, I would like to buy new monitor for photoediting (i am professional photographer) and gaming on playstation 5. So i need something 4k ips. Unfortunately there are no monitors with hdmi 2.1 yet and once there are some, I guess it will be pretty expensive. So i was considering 49" TV LG 49NANO86. Is it a bad idea as monitor? It has 4k ips and hdmi 2.1. I can sit 140cm from the screen so 49" should be ok. Also I can calibrate the screen with my X-Rite i1Display Pro calibration device.  Thank you

So there are some reasons why a TV is a poor choice for editing. The first one being that they're not as accurately calibrated. What'll be worse for you is the loss of 4:4:4. There's a reason why editing monitors cost upwards of thousands of dollars, don't cheap out for your work.
