Anyone know how to fix this

Windows7user

I have a game gear that plays no sound, and when it boots up has black lines and a white screen. Then when you get into a game you have lines in the screen or any lines

Have you tried cleaning the cartridge contacts and also the Game Gear's contact points?

my best guess would be to take it apart and have a peek inside, assuming it's a device you recently found in the attic(or aquired).

Could potentially be a messed-up screen? Game Gears were relatively cutting-edge in the fact that they had a color screen for a portable device from the early 1990s. Could finally be failing after all this time.

That or capacitors.
