How do i change windows 10 to my ssd instead of hdd

I recently bought a ssd and i have it in my pc but im not sure how to switch windows 10 to my ssd instead of my ssd do i change the boot priority or what?

First you will need to clone your HDD to your new SSD.

Once that is done, remove your old HDD and boot from your new SSD.

Then, shut the system down and reconnect your HDD.

Wipe it and repartition it.

So how do i clone it and when ive booted up from the ssd can i move the stuff i dont need on the ssd onto the hdd after everything is done

or you do a clean install of the os on the ssd and then just pop in the bios and change the boot order

Do i not lose the files on the hdd then?or is it basically just installing windows on the ssd and thats it

How big is your SSD and how big is your HDD?

My hdd is 1tb and ssd is 500gb

not unless you install the os on the hdd by accident, this step usually includes the formatting of said drive.

Once you are booted from your ssd you can manage what files you want on the ssd simply by moving them over. Also you can get rid of the os installation on the hdd afterwards

Oh ok i think ill just do that then once i have the windows downloaded on the ssd do i just select it in the boot priority in the bios
