Mainboard short in q code display

SuicideToast

So i build my PC all ready to go, plug it in smoke start building up. I also found the culprit. As you can see in the picture it seems the q code display somehow shorted.
So I have several question.

What could I have possibly connected wrong that the display shorts like that?

Is there even a slight chance I could RMA for a replacement or have essentially just deleted my money?

If not, is it possible the mainboard could still function normally? (It was lit up until i cut power)

Altigh, did an RMA for by board. Hope I get a new one. One further question though. How likely is it that my connected components were taken down with the board? I could only test my GPU and PSU so far as the other components  are not compatible with my old mainboard and they seem to work just fine.
