Random shutdown after installing new graphic card

Elitrich

Hi,

I just received a new graphic card and my computer is now randomly shutting down when playing game,

I though about an issue with the power supply, so I set the power limit to 90% on the GPU. It seems to solve the problem so I ordered a new power supply (seasonic prime 650w not yet received) But after a day I get the shutdown again.

so now I am not sure the power supply is the issue (when I use the power supply calculator from seasonic I get a load wattage of 448w and a recommended wattage of 498w ). Do you have any idea how I can find the source of the problem? (I don't have any xmp profile)

Spec:

i7 8700K

2x 8GB

Asus 3070 tuf (latest driver installed)

Seasonic focus 550w platinium

2x SSD

Corsair H100iv2

Win10 64

Thanks

Since you have a new PSU on the way, just wait for that.

The new RTX 3000 cards have a habit of pulling a huge amount of energy occasionally, and it shutting down is likely your overcurrent protection kicking in.
