My PC fans are dieing maybe?

Frederik2000

To day when i turn on my pc i made a loud "mhmhmhmhmhm" sound.

I have a H710 case with 3 intake fans, a water cooler and a MSI RTX 2080 super Gaming X Trio(sad gamer noises)

I think the sound came from my intake fans becuse when i turn it of agin and took the front panel of "taped" the fans lightly and turn it on agin the sound was gone.

So now when black friday is around the corner should i buy 3 new fans or just role with? Can i kill my pc from using a dead fan?

Sorry for my bad English.

Maybe a cable is hitting the fan blades? Can you get a video?

Well, remove all the panels [ front and side ], manually set fans to 100% and try to locate the source. You should be able to do it..

If it sounds like "tictictictictictic" like something is flicking the fan very fast, it is likely a cable.

If it is a loud "hum" sort of noise, that might be older fans. My fans do it, and they are 10 years old (they all use Molex...)

Interesting comment in parenthesis.

I'd get all new fans, personally.

I found out the other day, that setting my fans to DC instead of PWM (that regime they were for a year) the fan noise was halved at least. I guess I'm a noob in fans. The ones I had just werent'n PWM fans afaik.

I edit my posts more often than not
