no, the I/O shield just grounds the motherboard.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

No.

The I/O shield is just for aesthetics in order to make sure there isn't a hole in the back of your PC case.

so why asus show

PRE-MOUNTED I/O SHIELD

ROG's pre-mounted I/O shield offers increased protection against electrostatic discharge of 12kV, and is pre-fitted to make it even easier to install the motherboard. As an added bonus, its sleek new design makes it look as good as it performs! https://rog.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-Crosshair/ROG-CROSSHAIR-VI-EXTREME-Model/   . Its just marketing or what ? I just don't understand :D
