Solder on new M.2 Socket?

I damaged my M.2 slot on my motherboard. I see I can buy replacement headers online. Is it possible to unsolder the old socket, and solder on a new one using hand solder tools?

Is it possible yes (depending on what you damaged) is it difficult definitely yes. The easier solution would be getting  PCIe to NVMe adapter IMO

So something like this? I have a 3900X and would like to get 4.0 PCIe speeds, but this this advertises 3.0 speeds. I don't think the adapter dictated the speed but the MOBO right? I should still be able to get 4.0 speeds?

Have a look at this adapter instead. Should give you 4.0 capable speeds.
