is 240hz worth it?

Hello, I only have a 60hz monitor and i really need to upgrade it, im wondering if a 240hz (1080p) monitor is worth it over a 144hz (1080p) monitor, because 240hz much more expensive than 144hz and i want to know if its worth the extra 100-150 usd.

If you're competitive person and play a lot of online multiplayer games, it can be.

60hz monitor refreshes every 16.66ms, 144hz monitor refreshes every 6.94ms and 240hz refreshes every 4.16 ms.

So as you can see the refresh rates over 144hz start to have less and less impact.

It depends on how you want to use that 240Hz. If you're playing an esports game like CSGO really competitively then you might want those extra frames, but if you're just looking to get some extra FPS in triple A games then 144Hz is plenty. 

 

It also depends on what kind of build you're using to push those frames. If you can't get a good chunk more than 144 FPS out of your computer in the games you want to play, then there's no reason to get it.

60hz to 144hz, big difference, 144hz to 240Hz, less noticeable of a jump, still noticeably smoother looking though.

I'd go for 1440p 144hz before I'd go for 240hz, but as others have said it depends what games you're playing and at what level.

Well from 60Hz any would be a big difference so maybe save a bit.
