Need Help With my Monitor!

I just plugged in a 1440p monitor to my 2019 or 2020 (idk) Macbook pro. Now whenever I use the monitor everything is so small and there are big spaces on either side of pages in chrome. I already tried using the scaling thing but whenever I go down to 1080p or even just a little bit lower, the screen gets very very fuzzy. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

P.S. I already tried the optimize for mac and now theres big black bars on either side of my screen!

Sounds like you're running the external monitor at the wrong resolution? Also, make sure you're not just mirroring your MacBook display as the aspect ratio built in apple displays use are slightly taller than most monitors on the market.
