Hello,

I am about to invest in a brand new Dolby Atmos home theatre setup. However, my current Blu-ray player does not support Dolby Atmos. My future Denon receiver will accept Atmos signal. If I set my player in "pass-through mode" will my Denon receiver receive an Atmos signal or will it be converted down to Dolby True HD in which case I need to add a new player in my budget?

Thank you in advance,

if im not mistaken. if the media your watching has atmos in it it will send the raw signal to receiver in passthrough because the player isnt doing the processing any more

so it should be a yes. but in all honesty it really depends on if the player will actually do it
