The best B550 motherboard you can get for 230$ is the B550 Tomahawk which costs 180$ which also happens to be *one of the* best B550 motherboard at the moment at tier S- on the forums motherboard tier list.

Do you think it would be better to get that one and maybe a wifi dongle or a wifi card?

Yes, the b550 tomahawk is one of the best b550 boards out there, getting it with a wifi dongle is preferable, but if you can stretch the budget far enough, try for a x570 tomahawk wifi, it is much better

That's a crappy motherboard. For 10-20$ less you can get a B450 Tomahawk which is 2 tiers above it.

I can get the x570 but people say that the x570 is not worth it and a b550 with a dongle would be cheaper

Ir will, but if you want multiple nvme ssds on the future, you will only have gen 4 speed on one of the slots, if you want multiple with gen 4 speeds, you should get a x570, if nvme isn't a must, get the b550 and a dongle

That is true, high end x570 motherboards with comparable VRM's to the b550 tomahawk do tend to cost more. Also if you're getting a motherboard with separate wifi always get an add in card, the USB Wifi dongles are crappy at best.

If you're keen on getting a B550 motherboard with wifi integrated you can get a B550/M TUF Plus WIFI for about 170$, it's 1 tier under the Tomahawk however that shouldn't limit your upgrade path at all.

If you want to go with the tomahawk sure, it's a pretty decent board, the b550 gaming edge wifi or the b550 aorus pro AC or the b550 strix f wifi or the x570 tuf plus wifi, all of these are good.
