Around 5,000 3070's are being sold on Ebay not counting the other stuff

progamer21

that means there are 20.000 things that it thinks are 3070s there, but there may be 2070, and things that are not gpus at all. Probably 5000 max are actually 3070's

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

that was just a guestimation. Probably "There are over 20.000 items marked rtx 3070 on ebay" would be better.

A lot of those could be listings of pre-orders like scalpers are doing with 3080's, but wow $750 for a 3070, don't buy from the scalpers.

yup, dont support scalping at all, always try to buy at msrp for your savings and hopefully so people will eventually stop scalping

i think youre mistaken the msrp of 3070 is $500, max i would pay for one is 600, 3080 is 700 most i would pay is 800, scalping price points shouldn't be normalized

Those prices aren't close to MSRP, the msrp on a 3070 is $499, the 3080 has a msrp of $699.

IMO you shouldn't pay more than $550 for a 3070.

Pretty sure they're not all FE editions...

So the actual msrp is higher on most of them.

What else could be called a 3070, like a 3070 turbo charger for a Camaro.

Scalpers wont go away when there is a market.

Fraudulent listings are a far worse issue than sclaping, also some people are happy to pay 40% more to get it sooner, just like I am happy to wait until a steam sale to buy a game I want.

I do wish there was something we could do but how can you stop people spending their own money when it is their choice, even if you educate the whole market some will still want to pay more.

In the end it’s either the vendor or the customer who can fix this, the scalpers will be there in the middle until they do.
