Compared to your sig rig.... It won't matter.

Spend wisely. 5800X gonna smoke a 7700 (non K)

I have a 2700X I do NOT plan to upgrade even to Ryzen 5000 series. Figure hold me out till DDR5 (2022 hopefully).

Pretty sure a 5800X will hold out 5 years. NP. (EOL in 2)

the price diff is really not much here like around 120$ that i do not mind adding since you know extra 4 cores and  8 threads (my entire current cpu btw)

Well... yeah. I get that. Why I got the 2700X. 8 cores 16 threads. I've yet to see a game tax this cpu.

But if you're into F@H or Setti maybe other number crunching. Lot's of rendering, multi tasking.

Yes, Get more threads!! :D

It'll be fine. It should hold it's value well for a while too.

Can sell later and upgrade ;)

My 4267mhz kit resides in 8700K build. ;)

3600mhz on AMD is fine. That kit will OC. If IMC is good on 5000, probably squeeze 4000mhz from them.

That's going to be a strong gaming rig.

What about the cooling?

IMC on 5000 series is exactly the same as in 3000 series. So don't expect to run anything higher than 3600MHz at 1:1.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I'm not worried about all that. AMD claims it can be done 1:1 up to 4000mhz.

I know of a few people that have already done that.

Jumper had it at 1900mhz CL12, so that's pretty good benching figures. 100mhz shy of 2000 effective. Difference is minimal I think while running a Cas 12. The memory probably just didn't want to do it is all.

Saw Flanker pop in to chat with him for some pointers... Cinebench thread. last 2 pages.

Right on. It'll run nice and cool. 360 is plenty.

Check on FIT voltage and try not to use more that it would normally allow.

I would expect the same 7nm node to be around the same all core threshold of about 1.325v all core OC.

But would have to wait till the general public starts overclocking to get some good figures.

In the mean time, keeping an eye in the OC community for any standout details for tweaking.

Until we have some oc numbers i think ill just remove power limits and max boost time

Or just use it stock. It'll boost harder on lower temps anyways. Will have the same or very very similar SenseMi algorithm.
