Gotcha, I thought you were implying that you were going to be using the HD 58X with your interface.

The audio output on an interface is best suited as either a slight upgrade over an onboard headphone output and/or for use with direct playback input monitoring.

You may want to consider the UMC202HD instead of the UMC22. As I understand it, you'll have better drivers and sample rates over the UMC22. The difference between the UMC202HD and Solo is minimal when strictly referring to audio input. Go with whatever is cheaper.

My headset failed and the webcam is patchy.  Want some a nice clean audio from a dynamic mic as I spend 60%+ of work on calls, and my mechanical keyboard is annoying people.

Is the solo at £80 that much better than the Behringer at £40?

I won’t be recording an instrument anytime soon to add, this is just voice.

I rock the 58x for day to day, if that changes anything.

Thanks.

Thanks let me know if I said something useful. Cheers!

I've owned both the UMC202HD (similar to UMC22) and Scarlett Solo, both for voice and a headphone AMP/DAC. I've found little to no difference between the two when it comes to their audio input. If you're considering using either interface a headphone AMP/DAC, the Scarlett Solo justifies its price by performing better with 16-32Ω headphones, though neither perform well at 150Ω.

The UMC22 is not my any means a good interface though I do agree with the above response that the UMC202HD is very good, I'd argue it punches well above it's weight class.

Most interface users would use it for headphones....

Jokes aside, ASIO is very important for music production so having a separate output from the PC to headphones really isn't an option.

Sorry.  I don't get it.
