Will cheap capture card affect stream quality/fps?

Hello I'm new to streaming. I was wondering, will a cheaper capture card slow down my fps on the gaming computer from slower conversion of the game/stream data?

Here is the capture card im thinking of buying(only need 720p or 1080p  for twitch stream), does the quality matter for affecting fps on the gaming computer, or mess stream up any? thanks!

there are two that look similar, but are different prices, let me know please!

Just use display capture instead of shilling out for a capture card, OBS is very lightweight now especially if you are using a Nvidia GPU and use Nvenc encoding.

Capture cards are only necessary if you're using a dual capture system or want to stream console gameplay. You cant use a capture card to game/capture from the same computer.

If it is the same system, all capture cards will slow performance down, you could use a secondary system to stream from so that you don't lose any performance. Anyways 1080p is minimum for streaming so the viewers don't leave the stream from quality. So stream using cpu or gpu encoders unless you can pay for a second system

Yes i have a quad core cpu that i want to use as a streaming pc so as to not lose any fps(trying to achieve 250- 300 in afps without drops). was hoping this would prevent drops.

is it a separate PC? NOT your gaming rig, but will be a dedicated streaming rig?

Yes sir. I have an extra one so I figured I'd give it a try to keep fps and stream stable. If one of the 50-80$ capture cards is good enough to not slow it down, that is.

Also, from what I was reading, i will put capture card on main rig, then use hdmi from gpu to capture

Basically:

gpu --> capture card through hdmi in--> monitor through hdmi out

                    v

system through pcie --> streaming service

The problem is, your monitor will most likely be limited to 60fps output because of the capture card. So even if you want 250-300, you wont see a difference
