Core I7 2600 wont work

Go to solution Solved by Jarryd,

Hi sorry to everyone whoi has replied,  I have found that it is the fact that the psu only has a 20 pin connector and the mobo needs 24 pin after testing it with my main pc.

Thanks to everyone who helped out.

So, I have had a pc running a I3 3220 working fine and recently i got a i7 2600 from the place i work so i wanted to upgrade but whenever i try to boot with the i7 it boots until windows starts loading then at a random point restarts some times its on the desktop other times its still loads but it works fine with the i3

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Is it possible that the power supply only having 20 pins anf the mobo requiring 24 might have anything to with it?

what psu is it since a 20 pin is rarely available nowadays

that could be cause of the crash

Which mobo is it ? ... would be surprising that it would be something like a compatibility issue but ... did you check the compatibility with your motherboard/chipset before buying ?
