7700k CPU bottleneck with 3080 RTX?

What are we talking about in terms of lost performance, namely %?

Debating getting a new CPU but for my budget (around 1000 USD for Mobo as well), it doesn't seem worth it according to UserBenchmark.

Only for gaming, 1440p.

Thanks.

If I'm reading this correctly, 17% bottleneck?

Yes around that, depending on the title.

a 10600k with an overclock should heavily reduce any bottlenecking as well, though 10700k prices have fallen pretty far recently so both arent bad choices. with how expensive z490 boards are though, i'd consider an 8700k/9900k combo

Unless you have an intel bias, zen 3 will likely squeeze the last bit of out of a 3080 over a 10700k, i'd sit on the 7700k for now and wait for benchmarks

considering theyre likely to be scarce just like the gpu releases (iirc 10600ks are still over msrp, and 10900ks too), intel isnt a terrible choice right now. itll be interesting to see how they stack up as youll get 2 less cores at each midrange price point (5600x vs 10700k/9900k, 5800x vs 10850k/10900k)

i'm watching 5600x vs 10700 very carefully, and 5950x SHOULD be the gaming king, can't wait.

i figure the 5950x will have thermal/boosting "issues" just like the 3950x, so that the lower core count skus still clock better. i wouldnt be surprised if theyre all the same like zen 2, or if the 5600x/5800x actually come out ahead due to the single ccx thing

Not a pressing matter, gonna wait for the 3080s to be available. Late November?

Isn't my ram slow for Ryzen? It's 3000mhz

3000->3600 is about 5%, not too much, but performance is the reason you are upgrading
